Our History
Ascot International School was established in 1995 at a time when there were no international schools in the Saphan Sung area. Initially known as Park Place International School, it was well known for providing excellent early years education. Due to popular demand, the school expanded to accommodate Primary School facilities. This steady and sustainable growth continued, and our Secondary School was built in 2009. By this time, the school had changed its name to Ascot International School.
MISSION-DRIVEN
Accreditation
Ascot became a Cambridge International Examination Centre (CIE) in 2010, offering a wide range of IGCSE subjects. In 2011, Ascot received accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS). In 2012, students began studying for CIE Advanced Levels (A-Levels) and by 2014, the school was accredited again by the CIS for the whole school (from Nursery to Year 13).
Continued Growth
A new secondary building was added in 2016 to accommodate the growing needs of secondary school. In that same year, Ascot was authorised as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering IB Diploma Programme to Years 12&13. In 2019, the school was authorised to deliver IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), and became one of only 6 schools in Bangkok to offer multiple IB programmes.
In order to meet the demands of the IB World School status, new science labs, ICT labs and an Art and Design suite were built in addition to a new Futsal Stadium and air-conditioned sports and performance space. Libraries are at the centre of IB World Schools and this was reflected in the refurbished Early Years Library, the Primary Library as well as the improved and upgraded Secondary Library.
Ascot is currently in candidacy for the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and by year 2024 will be a fully authorised 3 programme IB World School. Doing so, this will make Ascot one of the very few international school in Bangkok, and the only one in this area, to become an IB Continuum School.
